Sub Slab Depressurization Systems

Below are generic drawings of sub-slab depressurization radon control systems. The drawing to the left shows the fan mounted outside, the most common approach for retrofits of existing homes. The drawing to the right shows the fan installed in the attic, the approach often used in newly constructed, “radon-ready” homes. Both types of systems work to draw or suck the radon out from below the house before it enters, and both are guaranteed to reduce radon levels to below the recommended guideline of 4 picocuries per liter.
